Welcome to the Melanie East Photography blog. I am a fully qualified full time professional wedding and portrait photographer. I qualified with and am a member of the prestigious Master Photographers Association.

Here you'll find the latest news, promotions and of course some of my favourite images from recent shoots. I photograph weddings, newborns, babies, children and families throughout the South West.

Photography is my passion, - I left my career as a lawyer to pursue my dream and have never looked back. I love capturing the special moments in people's lives - but moreover I love to exceed my client's expectations. I’m back!

I’m sorry for the lack of blog posts. I was manically busy shooting and then went away to the Cayman Islands for our annual holiday. And boy did I need that holiday! We swam with stingrays, we snorkelled for starfish, we visited teeny Little Cayman and generally had a ball. Not only that but we also did something very special that I will blog about later :)

But now I’m back with a vengeance – after landing back in the UK it was straight into shooting the lovely Natalie and Simon’s wedding at Priston Mill. I have lots of editing to be done from previous weddings and shoots, and next up on the blog will be Emma-Louise and Antony’s wedding at Leigh Court.

Meanwhile, here’s a shot of my gorgeous Millie – sunset in the Cayman Islands…

I know… it’s been a while… but MEP has been mega busy! So it’s catch up time …

A couple of weeks ago, I shot the wedding of Elizabeth and Oliver in Brockworth and afterwards at Tortworth Court. I had a beautiful couple, it was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding :)

Chloe – 13 months

{Maternity} – Amy 35 weeks

Amy booked a maternity shoot and a baby’s first year package with me for when her baby is born in a matter of weeks. I’m really looking forward to meeting her new baby and to capturing some lovely shots of him or her!

Here are a couple of shots of Amy – I’m sure you’ll agree she looks amazing and beautiful :) I love maternity portraits, it is often something I wish I had thought of having done when I was expecting Amelia. I can’t think of anything lovelier than having photographic memories of when your child was growing inside you.

These would look incredible on art blocks in the nursery!

Amy, I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks with your newborn baby!

Hilary - These photographs are really lovely. I really like the soft focus effect – it makes the pictures look really really beautiful.

Johanna Malinton - So lovely! Really like these photographs, I would have had my bump photographed if I knew I could have had photographs like these. I’d probably have them in an album if it was me though, so I could have a pregnancy album and a baby album, – feeling broody now!
